3 things I took Away From My Conversation With Celebrity Stylist Daniel Musto

I had the pleasure while in New York for fashion week this past weekend at the Simply Conference to chat with celebrity stylist Daniel Musto. This was not a planned talk however, I complimented him on his fly jacket and it went from there I ask to take a picture with him as I thought after that he would go his way, however he took the time out to get to know me, ask me about what I did and I even got a chance to meet his mother! (How cool is that)

He was so cool, and engaging, which made it very comfortable to talk to him like we have known each other for years. So with that being said, let me share with you, what I took away from your conversation.

1. Be true to your brand- Never compromise who you are or your brand. No matter how great a deal may be if it not true to your business, authenticity DON’T DO IT!!

2. Be Open-Network and collaborate with others, who have the same common goal. You can learn from anyone, no matter if you are a hair stylist, fashion stylist, makeup artist, etc. When one wins, we all win!

3. Be able to connect-As being in a industry that focuses on the outer appearance, it can be a little odd coming from someone who is into making a person look glamorous on the outside. However one thing that Daniel and I had in common was the inside has to match with the outside. If you are a stylist of any kind, that should be your main focus to make sure you connect with your clients inside, as well as the outside.

I hope these 3 points inspire you to continue on your journey to make your brand great.
